Lalitar Cha: Last Order
They always ask me why I don't drink tea anymore.
I had a tea stall once. In a village where the road ends at the rice fields.
Everyone called it Lalita's Tea. Even after Lalita was gone.
A first-person Bengali village horror game for Android, in development at Logic & Gate. You are Montu. You run this stall for four days, and the last two nights are the wrong nights to be out.
Ride to the stall

The evening rush
I got it cheap. Nobody else wanted it. I thought I was the lucky one.
After dark the benches fill up. Ten villagers, all voiced in Bangla with English subtitles: some funny, some nosy, some too tired to talk. They drink your tea and they talk over it. Listen long enough and you'll hear why this stall was going cheap, and why nobody likes the pond.
Four days in Kartik
It was the month of Kartik. Every night the moon grew a little thinner.
-
Day 1An ordinary day
Learn the stall. Learn the road home.
-
Day 2Nearly ordinary
Small things. Easy to explain away.
-
Day 3ভূত চতুর্দশী

In Bengal they say the fourteenth night of the dark fortnight is when the dead come closest, and that on the moonless night after it you stay away from water and big trees.
They say a petni is the ghost of a woman who died with a wish unfinished. White sari, open hair, a voice that comes through her nose, feet turned backwards. And she can wear an ordinary face.
Your water comes from a pond. Three times a day.
The last order
Some customers... never stop coming back.
